The opportunity:
Are you an experienced underwriter looking for a new challenge? Do you want to join an organisation that will invest in your development? We are looking for an underwriter to join our Commercial Real Estate team on a permanent basis. Working within our Real Estate Underwriting team, you will join a team of experienced underwriters that will be able to support you. This is a great opportunity for someone that is looking to progress in one of the world’s largest insurance companies.
You will have the opportunity to work directly with some of long serving, major customers so it is important that you have a focus on providing excellent customer service.
This role is available part-time, job-share or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time.

What will you be doing?
  • Deliver against underwriting & financial measures as outlined in the plan.
  • Demonstrate market visibility & underwriting expertise.
  • Develop, maintain & collaborate with Line of Business representatives on referrals and other business-related needs, as appropriate.
  • Qualify accounts to meet with the organisation's appetite, consistent with sound business opportunity.
  • Accurately select, assess and price risk in line with underwriting mentorship.
  • Make clear recommendations for market pricing, backed up by strong rationale and confident decision-making.
  • Have an external presence within the Public Sector visiting our customers regularly ensuring you fully understand their risk & insurance requirements.
  • Serve as a key Zurich contact for our customers.

  • Previous Real Estate/Property underwriting experience.
  • Strong relationship management skills.

  • Proactive and able to manage a varied workload.

  • Ability to effectively assess risk.
  • Cert or DiP CII Qualified or actively working towards accreditation.
