Within our Solutions Delivery Team (Digital & Enabling) we are looking for an IT Delivery Lead (Scrum Master) to support our continuous flow of change, moving away from traditional methods and embracing modern agile practices. Our App squad is looking for energetic and enthusiastic servant leader to own and drive forward a cohesive delivery flow and really make a difference at YBS.

Leveraging appropriate delivery frameworks, mainly Scrum, the Delivery Lead will use their experience and influence to encourage teams to deliver their best work, improving facilitation of demand, supporting the prioritisation of the backlog, as wells as embedding good delivery practices throughout the lifecycle based on the Agile principles.


About the role

As Delivery Lead (Scrum Master), you’ll be the ‘servant leader’ to the multi-disciplined team and facilitate self-organisation around prioritised work ensuring successful delivery of committed activities. Driving value sooner, the role supports a steady flow of features and changes working alongside leaders to drive better, safer outcomes for customers and colleagues. You will -

  • Be an integral squad member, facilitate team ceremonies/ meetings such as daily scrums/ stand ups, retrospectives, sprint reviews and sprint planning events

  • Play an active role in Communities of Practice

  • Report to and work in partnership with the IT Delivery Manager to embed & role model positive behaviours and culture, drive continuous improvement and create a data-driven environment, with a continued focus on quality, value and risk management

  • Work with stakeholders from the wider business to develop implementation plans and manage external dependencies

  • Resolve issues and blockers and manage escalation of these in a timely manner, working closely with the squad (Tech Leads and Product Owners)

  • Work alongside the Technical Lead and Product Owners to ensure technical debt is appropriately managed on the backlog and the foundations of engineering and process excellence (basis of continuous lean-agile improvements) are being implemented

  • Use appropriate tools to ensure effective recording and management of the team’s backlog items to provide visibility of activity and progress against committed backlog items.

  • Build a strong network across the Digital and Enabling domain that allows you to influence and drive value at every opportunity


About you

You’ll have previous project/ change management experience within an Agile delivery team with the ability to influence and challenge constructively. In addition, you’ll be able to demonstrate –

  • Working knowledge of Agile frameworks (for example, Scrum, Kanban) and techniques (such as, but not limited to, relative estimation, user story mapping and team chartering) with a general understanding of wider practices such as DevOps, CI/ CD, BDD/ TDD, automated testing and ITIL desirable

  • How you have practically applied these methodologies and evidence their value

  • Servant leadership working with delivery teams to drive a continual improvement mentality

  • Ability to measure delivery progress and trends, such as - burndown/ burnup, incremental delivery, story points, cumulative flow

  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills, energic and authentic with good sensing skills to help others with their development
