Junior Product Designer

Part Time & Permanent (3 days/week) based in Verwood

£21,000 per annum pro-rata

About the role - We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Product Designer to join our team. Working within the product design team, the role will include both creating artwork and products and supporting the Product Design team in a design capacity.

The role is a varied one and includes all aspects of project work from the brief stage right through to completion. It includes the opportunity to work with aspects of design such as researching trends, illustration, pattern creation, typography, packaging design and art-working; as well as tasks such as finding and retouching images, creating digital mock-ups and any ad-hoc tasks needed in a busy studio environment.

About you -

· Experience in Adobe Creative Suite is essential, with an emphasis on Illustrator

· Good drawing skills essential

· Some art-working experience and technical skills to create digital mock-ups in Photoshop an advantage

· Looking to develop ability within the design industry (which includes graphic design, textiles design, print design)

· Strong ability to self-critique work

· Able to complete work on time, to brief and of a high standard in line with company objectives

· Pattern design and repeat design experience either in packaging or textiles would be advantageous

· A commercial awareness and the ability to understand target audiences

· A willingness to go the extra mile, a driven team player, willing to learn

· Excellent attention to detail and integrity to do the right thing

· Interest in arts and crafts
