We are recruiting for an Assistant to join our busy Transport team, we are keen to meet both experienced candidates as well as trainees as this is a great opportunity for someone interested in starting a career in logistics.
LOGISTICS DEPARTMENT ASSISTANT
We are looking for a reliable, proactive individual with a “can do” attitude who has the potential and willingness to learn through practical experience as full training will be provided.
You will assist the Logistics team with the following duties:
- Managing delivery and collection schedules
- Ensuring all delivery paperwork is in order and correct (e.g. delivery notes)
- Booking in deliveries and collections with customers and on site representatives
- Liaison with sales team, delivery drivers, site representatives
- Organising Risk Assessments statements for site work
- Organising and arranging vehicle checks and update maintenance records
- Fleet management (fleet insurance, fleet recovery, vehicle servicing, MOTs)
- Managing pool car bookings
- Managing congestion charges/tolls etc. as required
- Booking overnight accommodation for drivers
- Organising quotes from 3rd parties, subcontractors
- Managing the Fuel Card account.
