The Role

As a Home Delivery Driver you will be working alongside the home delivery team and reporting into the Regional Home Delivery Manager/Lead Driver. Tasks will include but are not limited to;

• To ensure all goods loaded correspond with delivery paperwork
• Ensure customers receive the correct goods and all associated paperwork is completed
• Ensure the vehicle is safe to drive and free from defect or damage
• Ensure all goods are loaded and transported in a secure and safe manner
• Ensure daily vehicle defect is completed and returned to management prior to departure
• Present a professional image to all colleagues, clients and customers
• Timely and appropriate communication with customers
• Deliver goods as required by the customers, room of choice
• Comply with client/customer delivery process and onsite procedures
• Ensure all goods have been checked for accuracy or damage during loading or unloading the vehicles
• Report any shortages or damages to supervisors at the point of dispatch or delivery
• Ensure failed deliveries are dealt with in accordance with procedures
• Promote open and honest communication
• To comply with the relevant statutory legislation while driving company vehicles
• Promotion and maintenance of a Health & Safety environment

Who are we looking for?

Suitable candidates for this role will be customer focused; with a proven track record in delivering outstanding satisfaction in a multi drop delivery role. You will put the customer at the forefront of everything you do, by offering outstanding service in the delivery of customer’s goods. You will go the extra mile; from loading your vehicle to dealing with customer queries.

The roles will require successful DBS clearance.

You will be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of health and safety procedures and legislation and an eagerness to ensure health and safety compliance in all that you do.

Required skills and experience:

• A valid full UK driving license with a maximum of 3 points and no IN10 or DR endorsements
  
• Experience of driving 3.5T vehicles.
  
• A good understanding of drivers hours and regulations and the working time directive
• Knowledge of Tachograph use and current EU legislation
• Good geographical knowledge
• A good understanding of written English and Maths to GCSE standard (or equivalent)
• Flexible approach to work
