Ice cream seller

Valenti’s are looking for bright friendly people to join us and serve our locally made delicious artisan ice cream and smoothies. We are an independent ice cream parlour situated in the fantastic Hendra Holiday Park Complex, Newquay, Cornwall. We have seasonal work which would ideally suit students or anyone looking for Summer work. During the peak season we offer paid overtime to all staff. Our hours are flexible to accommodate a good work/life balance, which we feel is important to promote health and wellbeing.

Valentis is an independent shop situated in the heart of Hendra surrounded by the fantastic facilities offered by this vibrant quality holiday park. These facilities include bars, brand new refitted restaurant and state of the art swimming pool. Our customers are happy loyal visitors to the highly acclaimed Hendra Holiday Experience. They recognise our product to be different and delicious and become very loyal to us making multiple visits, sometimes across a single day! We are a family orientated business!

Our quality ice cream is part of the ‘made in Cornwall’ scheme run by Cornwall council, as we really do make in Cornwall! We pride ourselves as being a leading expert in the Ice Cream Industry and have established working partnerships both in the UK and Europe.

Our USP is for our customers to create their own individual ice cream’s, choosing from a selection of ice cream and sorbet flavours, fruit, Italian cones, sprinkles, Italian chocolate, toppings, and sauces with real whipped cream. You will be given the opportunity to be creative in the presentation of our product and flourish independently with the support of other team members. Counter responsibilities include making recommendations based on customer preferences and allergy awareness, up-selling special items and taking orders.

We are looking for people to support us by performing all tasks needed to achieve a smoothly running outlet. You must be confident have a mature outlook on life and happy to take on responsibilities becoming an integral part of the team. Our family of staff are viewed as being an essential part of our business and everyone will be trained in all aspects of running a small catering outlet. These tasks which will include being a key holder, setting up the shop ready to trade. Monitoring stock rotation with items or cleaning products which need to be replenished. Carrying out all HACCP procedures and temperature checks, handling cash and using our square epos system, cleaning down and securing the building at the close of business. We promote independent and confident workers who will be equipped to work in any retail business due to the experience you will be given, as part of our team.

If you are passionate about what you do and can transfer that enthusiasm to customers and other team members, we would like to meet you. Previous experience which has given you the opportunity to communicate with customers effectively and honestly would be an advantage. The shop is situated within the holiday complex and has the added advantage of free parking and good public transport services.

Salary: £6.83-£11.00 per hour
