Due the expansion of the Occupational Therapy course at its Walsall campus and the development of a new pre-registration MSc in Occupational Therapy at its Telford Campus, the University of Wolverhampton is now seeking to appoint 4 full time, permanent Lecturers in Occupational Therapy.

We are seeking to appoint 4 suitably qualified and experienced Occupational Therapists within the Department of Allied Health to support and facilitate learners throughout their studies to become an Occupational Therapist.

You will join the existing team of occupational therapy lecturing staff to support the course delivery of the BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy and the BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy Apprenticeship course at Walsall Campus, as well as the course delivery of the pre-registration Masters in Occupational Therapy at Telford Campus.

The posts are full time and permanent and are based at Walsall Campus, although cross campus travel and travel to practice placement areas will be expected.

The role of the Lecturer in Occupational Therapy involves preparation and delivery of teaching and learning activity on various aspects of the occupational therapy direct entry, apprenticeship and preregistration Masters’ courses including the delivery of skills, personal tutoring, assessment and support of students in placement. A commitment to innovative teaching and research activities within Occupational Therapy are a requirement of the post in order to contribute towards the OT portfolio and the profile of the faculty.

You will have extensive experience and knowledge of occupational therapy practice and will be familiar with the requirements of the Occupational Therapist. Effective teamwork and excellent communication skills are essential. Familiarity with the support of occupational therapy students would be beneficial and formal teaching experience is preferred, but is not essential. Applicants who do not hold a teaching qualification would be expected to work towards one and a commitment to achieving Fellowship of the HEA is a requirement, if recognition has not already been achieved.

You must hold a relevant professional qualification or undergraduate degree and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council as an Occupational Therapist is essential.
