This is a fantastic opportunity to join the University of Southampton, one of the UK’s leading research Universities. We are seeking to appoint a Student Fees Assistant to work in the Finance, Planning & Analytics directorate. We’re seeking a dynamic, focused individual to join the Transactions Hub, building relationships across the department, the university and with our students and external customers.

As a strong administrator you will need to have meticulous attention to detail, be organised and conscientious, work in a calm and professional manner with excellent numeracy and interpersonal skills, and actively support the team to explore new ideas and ways to continually improve the service and processes.

The Role

Joining the Finance, Planning and Analytics team as a Student Fees Assistant, you’ll support the efficient charging and payment of tuition fees, accommodation fees and other miscellaneous services with a goal to deliver maximum value for money and benefit to the University. You’ll work with a diverse range of stakeholders, including our student community, providing essential advice and valuable administrative support to our students, colleagues, and external customers with fee enquiries.

You’ll have the ability to efficiently organise your work activities, present a calm and professional manner with excellent interpersonal skills, and meticulous attention to detail.

You’ll work closely with the Credit Control and Accounts Receivable teams to share knowledge and skills to help develop a larger cohesive team that supports succession planning and recognises and encourages individual’s talents.

What We Can Offer You

As well as additional benefits, such as a generous holiday allowance of 20+ days, 6 additional university closure days and 8 bank holidays, we will support your long-term future with access to a pension scheme, subsidised health and fitness facilities and a range of discounts. We are committed to supporting our staff and students and are open to a flexible working approach.

We are committed to building an inclusive and diverse culture at the University and creating an environment where people can balance successful careers with their commitments and interests outside of work. Our flexible working practices, including a hybrid working model, where employees can split their working time between the office and home, support our belief that this balance brings long-lasting benefits for our institution as well as our people.

We believe equality and diversity are fundamental to making the University of Southampton a vibrant, proud, and successful organisation. A diverse workforce, with people from different racial, educational, and social backgrounds and a range of ages, opens a wealth of possibilities for Southampton.
