Education and Academic Services

This new full-time post is available immediately on a permanent basis. The role holder will be expected to work on a hybrid basis, with some time working from home and some time based in the office.

Summary of the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Student Support Advisor (Online Programmes) to join our Education Services Team.

This role’s main priority is to support distance learners, on fully online PGT programmes and modules, by maintaining regular and ongoing communication, promoting engagement with studies, motivating learners, responding to enquiries and signposting, where appropriate, to other services, and flagging concerns to the appropriate academic and administrative leads.

The jobholder will proactively engage with students and prospective students from the time that an offer of a place is made through to their module / programme completion. Working as an embedded and fully collaborative member of the Education Support Team, in close liaison with the academic and administration leads of the programmes/modules, the post holder will play a key role in providing effective, professional and sensitive support to distance online students who are experiencing academic and non-academic difficulties that are impacting their ability to study.

In collaboration with the academic Faculties, the Education and Academic Services (EAS) Directorate provides all of the key administration and education support activities that underpin the student experience from Fresher’s Week to Graduation. Service divisions within EAS include Library and Culture Services, Teaching Quality and Academic Enhancement, Student Employability and Academic Success, and Education Services. This role sits within the Education Services area of responsibility comprising approximately 250 staff.

Please ensure you read the Job Description and Person Specification for full details of this role.
