Education and Academic Services

There are two new part-time (18 hours per week) posts, available immediately on a fixed-term basis until 31 October 2024.

Summary of the role

These part-time roles are based in Special Collections in the Old Library, undertaking digitisation of selected archival materials for the Digital Archive of the Middle East (DAME) project.

The work will involve using a digital SLR camera and specialist software to produce digital images of a range of materials from the archives held in Special Collections and other documents from the University’s Arab World Documentation Unit at the Institute for Arab and Islamic Studies (IAIS).

Working alongside a small team, with the Project Manager of the DAME project and other Special Collections staff, you will have the opportunity to handle a fascinating range of unique historical documents. The role requires an ability to work methodically and with sustained concentration over long periods, and to handle fragile documents with care and respect.

Please ensure you read the Job Description and Person Specification for full details of this role.
