Lecturer in Global Public Health

The Department of Social and Policy Sciences is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Global Public Health.

About the role

You will teach on our newly launched MSc in Global Public Health & Policy, a degree taught jointly with the Department for Health.

We are looking for applicants with excellent teaching credentials, as well as promising research track records who could contribute to and benefit from our growing research strength in this area.

Alongside the Bath Beacon in 21st Century Public Health and the ground-breaking interdisciplinary public and global health research already ongoing at Bath, the MSc is an important component of a growing programme of high quality public and global health teaching and research within the University.

Our aim is to cement Bath as globally recognised centre of excellence using interdisciplinary approaches to understand and support effective responses to the complex challenges facing human and planetary health.

This role is offered on a full time (36.5 hours) permanent basis.

About you:

• You will hold a PhD and an undergraduate degree in the relevant discipline or equivalent qualification/experience.
• Hold a strong track record in research in relevant subject commensurate with stage of career.
• Be able to demonstrate a depth and breadth of understanding of subject matter at a complex conceptual level.

Additionally, you will be expected to teach a range of topics in public and global health. We are particularly interested in applications from candidates with expertise in health policy, commercial determinants of health, complex systems approaches, environmental sustainability and health, epidemiology, demography and global health governance.
