Job summary

Applications are invited for the posts of Chief Medical Officer's Fellow, under the Trust's Terms & Conditions of Service for Junior Specialist Doctor (Standard).

Main duties, tasks & skills required

These are fixed term 12 month posts commencing in August 2023, which will form part of the team delivering the Trust's Corporate Quality Improvement (QI) Programme across UHB Trust. These posts will support QI projects such as: safety standards for invasive procedures (LocSSIPs), VTE prophylaxis, ward rounds, end of life care. These posts will be responsible for giving the clinical steer required to ensure that projects are developed with the necessary clinical background and detail.

Job description

They will suit an individual wishing to develop skills in quality improvement, management, team working and clinical leadership. These posts will enhance individuals' portfolios for potential selection into basic or higher specialist hospital training and possibly hospital management in the future.

Qualifications

Essential

Full GMC

Medical Degree from a recognised University

Experience

Essential

A minimum of 2 years full time post graduate training (its equivalent gained on a part time basis) or equivalent experience and competencies.

Able to demonstrate basic clinical knowledge appropriate to level of responsibility.

Desirable

Awareness of Clinical Governance principles
