COME AND JOIN OUR TEAM!

The role of the nurse in the emergency assessment unit is a very exciting opportunity, where you can become part of a dynamic and experienced team which is continually changing and developing and where no one day is the same. We strive to improve patient experience and treatment.

The team include an On Call team of Junior doctors and Consultants who work alongside the nursing team and Acute Care Consultants providing the highest quality care. We see patients with a wide range of acute and complex conditions, which include critically unwell patients.

We are looking for motivated and driven health care professionals with fresh ideas to join our dynamic team on EAU ( Emergency Assessment Unit). Our unit has 24 beds and takes referrals from a number of sources including A&E, GP, Clinics and ACP’s. We also have 4 level 1 beds where we care for those higher acuity patients

Training and support will be given to enable you to manage these patients confidently.

As a new member of the team you will be expected to deliver high standards of care and have the enthusiasm, skill and ability to accomplish this role . If not already competent in extended roles you will be supported to achieve this within 6 months of joining the team. To meet the clinical demands of the patients which can vary , you will be expected to manage your time and workload effectively whilst prioritising patient care.

You should have good communication skills to form good relationships with staff and patients. Patients within your care will be treated with dignity and respect and will be dealt with in a confidential manner at all times as part of the Trust Privacy and Dignity Pledges and you will be able to work in accordance with the Trust’s Policies and Guidelines and be confident and competent in practice.

Our Trust is situated in the beautiful county of Lincolnshire and is one of the biggest acute hospital trusts in England, serving a population of more than 700,000 people. We provide acute and specialist services to people in Lincolnshire and neighbouring counties. We have an annual income of £643 million (20/21) and we employ nearly 8,500 people.

Our Board have recently agreed a new vision statement – “Outstanding Care Personally Delivered” – stating their ambition for our Trust to be among the best.

We also have a five year Integrated Improvement Plan setting out how we will achieve our strategic objectives, for patients, services, people and partners, the last recognising that our future success depends on our ability to ensure the Lincolnshire healthcare system is successful in achieving its ambition to help people live healthier lives and provide care closer to where people live.

Our latest CQC report increased our ratings for being effective and well-led from ‘Requires Improvement’ to ‘Good’. Our rating for caring remained as ‘Good’.

This is in recognition of the huge amount of work that our amazing staff have done to improve the quality of care for our patients in recent years.

We are committed to helping our staff balance their work and home lives and ensure they feel supported, valued and appreciated
