Summary

We are looking to recruit a PA for my 6-year-old son who has Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy.

He has limited independent mobility and needs physical support with all personal care and social needs. He uses a wheelchair and relies on adults for transfers into his chair and other equipment via moving, handling, or hoisting. His home is fully adapted for all his physical needs.

He communicates verbally but has speech and processing delay which makes it harder for him to communicate and be understood. He has dysphagia and needs support with eating and drinking and he also has a gastrostomy for medicines and liquids. He uses a wheelchair and standing frame and requires support to ensure he is comfortable and can access daily activities.

He enjoys play and social activities but needs adult support in accessing and participating in play, social and therapeutic activities inside and outside the home. He has a cheeky sense of humour and enjoys being silly and dancing/rolling around on the floor to music and games. He loves books and stories but he needs help holding and reading them.

We are looking for a friendly, trustworthy, patient and understanding person who can spend time with my son and safely assist and care for him in various daily activities in the home and in the local community.
The successful candidate will need to be confident, independent, and flexible to meet and adapt to his evolving needs.

The PA will be directed by and accountable to Mum in all aspects of their duties.
An enhanced DBS Check will be required (at expense of the employer).
