New Job Opportunity- Equipment Technician/Mechanic

Turf Star Western is seeking a mechanic for our Fremont, California location.

This job performs diagnostics on all types of landscape, commercial, and contractor equipment. In addition to performing preventative maintenance. Duties can include, but are not limited to small engine overhaul, maintenance on gas and diesel engines, hydraulic systems, welding, and minor painting. This position also assists customers in the retail store with counter sales.

This position does not require using your own tools. Tools will be provided. Provided tools are replaced and maintained by TSW.

We are looking for individuals who will always represent Turf Star Western in a professional and ethical manner when working with all types of customers: internal, external, co-workers, management/ownership, vendors and the like. Solid professional communication skills and accepting constructive feedback in this job is essential.

Essential Job Functions:

· Diagnose/troubleshoot/repair

· Repair small gas and diesel engines, hydraulic systems and/or electrical systems

· Performs simple and advanced blade sharpening

· Set-up new equipment and demonstration equipment

· Complete administrative duties daily, such as: submitting parts orders, complete labor logs, and daily electronic reporting of time and attendance, etc.

· Provide excellent customer service

Job Qualifications:

· Proven experience in small engine repair, hydraulics, and diesel.

· Turf equipment set up or repair experience preferred, but not required,

· Cash handling experience,

· Computer skills required

· Excellent communication skills

· We will train on how to use engine and ECU diagnostic software

· This is an active position. The candidate must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.

Job Offerings:

· Wage range for this position is $19.00 to $28.00 per hour. Hired applicant placement within the range is based on qualifications and professional experience.

· Overtime pay is possible based on season and business need

· Eligible for discretionary variable compensation.

· Mon-Fri (NO Weekends!!)

· Paid 2 times a month (semi-monthly)

· Paid time off earned per pay period based on months of service

In compliance with the State of California, Turf Star, Inc provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for jobs that may be hired in California. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to shill set, level of experience, and specific geographic area. For the State of California only, the range of pay for this job is $19.00 - $28.00 per hour.
