As part of our Logistics team, the logistics specialist will be responsible for managing processes and controls to ensure Region 1 (UK & Ireland) Outside Storage operations are conducted in a controlled environment and capable of meeting Business requirements. The successful applicant will ensure delivery of world class customer service by effectively utilising relationships with Freight Forwarders / Outside Storage providers, Logistics Operations, Inbound Allocations, Loss Prevention and Distribution Finance, thus ensuring all Outside Storage related activities operate effectively and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities


  • Managing the timely and cost efficient FLOW of all merchandise into and out of Region 1 outside storage facilities, supporting Processing Centres availability in line with business needs.

  • Being a central point of contact for moderating interaction between Forwarders / Outside storage providers, Allocations, In/Outbound Operations and Processing centres

  • Support setting up and running the Inbound Logistics Centre (ILC) from a In/Out flow perspective. Partner with the ILC Lead on operational process as well as on strategic considerations as part of our wider Region 1 Outside Storage strategy.

  • Take a leading role in cross-functional cost saving & process improvement initiatives (partnering with Inbound Operations, Loss Prevention, PCs, Finance)

  • Act as the focal point for all things Ouside storage (OS) strategy, aiming to manage the OS network towards an aligned view of our space & throughput needs for the financial year and beyond.

  • Closely align with and support Distribution Finance and Analytics on Outside storage space forecast and Budget, ensuring operational needs and limitations are being considered appropriately.

  • Monitor the performance of our OS sites and providers against a set of SLAs, recommending performance improvements and driving action plans with Forwarders & internal partners to achieve these.

  • Explore opportunities for more coverage of OS recall through the integrated fleet as we move into an open book setup for the whole of Region 1, partnering with Logistics Ops and our nominated Forwarders.

  • Ensure all nominated OS providers are well aware of key principals and processes of handling our merchandise- from a receiving, holding/inventory control and dispatch/re-delivery perspective.

  • Support functions such as Tax/Legal and Loss Prevention in investigating/resolving any special vendor or tax authority requests, incidents and safety concerns.

  • Travel as required within the UK and occasionally to European countries.


Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience


  • Experience working in a dynamic Logistics and/or Supply Chain environment, with exposure to operational and financial performance management

  • Enjoys business partnering both internal and externally, driving for results by utilising strong relationships

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities

  • Ability to work in the grey

  • Ambitious, driven and passionate about delivering the best possible outcome for the business

  • Experience in implementing cross functional processes and procedures.

  • Proficient computer literacy and knowledge of software, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

  • Excellent writing and communication skills are essential for this role
