The Role
Thornton Tomasetti’s London office is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Senior Project Engineer with over seven years of experience working in a structural consultancy practice. We are currently delivering major projects (including commercial, residential, cultural, life science and sports) in the City of London, mainland Europe and the Middle East, and are seeking experienced engineers to help deliver these. Candidates should ideally be Chartered through either the ICE or IStructE routes. For the right candidate, the role offers exciting opportunities to grow and develop their career in a supportive and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Structural analysis, design and detailing for all types of buildings and materials using a variety of building codes.
- Supervision and management of other engineers and BIM technicians.
- Coordination of design work with in-house staff across multiple offices, as well as other design professionals including Architects and other Engineering disciplines.
- Communicate with clients and other design professionals to understand project requirements.
- Role may involve some travel within the UK and abroad.
Qualifications
- Degree (Master’s or equivalent preferred) in structural engineering or related field.
- Strong technical skills.
- Excellent communication skills – verbal, written and graphical / sketches.
- Working knowledge preferred of current industry software, such as SAP2000, ETABS, RAM, Risa3-D, PCA Software, Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, Grasshopper and Microsoft Office.
- Chartered Engineer Status (IStructE / ICE) preferred
- 7+ years of experience.
