Assistant Food & Beverage Manager

Relais & Chateau at Thornbury Castle are seeking a Ass. Food and Beverage manager to join our professional Food & Beverage Team. You will be working in a unique and beautifully restored Castle, creating truly memorable and impressive 5* experiences for our guests.

About Us

Set on 15 acres of beautiful land, Thornbury Castle Hotel is the only Tudor Castle operating as a hotel in England. The Castle has almost completed a multi-million pound refurbishment program bringing back to life the regal grandeur of its past. Located 20 minutes’ drive from Bristol, it offers 27 rooms and suites, an award-winning restaurant, bar and two unique meeting and conference spaces. our food style is modern British using the best locally sourced produce from our kitchen garden and around the southwest. We operate 7 days a week, serving breakfast, afternoon tea, dinner, and Sunday lunch as well as the occasional wedding and functions.

• Support the food and beverage manager in the running of the department ( breakfast, afternoon tea, dinner and functions up to 70 people)
• Knowledge of traditional cocktails, spirits, wine (qualification preferable)
• Service Experience at a 2 /3 rosettes level.
• Answer all queries about the menu including drinks and make suggestions.
• Take ownership of guest’s requirements and food allergies.
• Follow Health and Safety and Food Safety procedures and making sure are in place in the department.
• Experience with handling guest queries and complaints
• Natural passion and flair for the industry and food
• A calm mature approach
• Ambition to succeed at the highest levels.
• Dedicated team player with strong communication skills
• Ability to work unsupervised using own initiative.
• Making sure the operation procedure are in place maintained monitored and actioned ( Relais chateaux and rosettes standard.)
• Making the sure the revenue generated is accounted.
• Making sure the financial and HR procedure are in place and maintained in the department.
• Willing to learn new things.

The Offer

• £ 29.000
• This role can be offered a Full time permanent position 45 hours per week mainly evening shifts and week end availability
• An additional share of service charge and tips every 2 months (about 2/3 k per year)
