Are you passionate about delivering care? Do you have experience or an interest in delivering end of life care? Would you like to develop your career within a hospice environment? If so then we’d love to hear from you.

In our last staff survey 100% of our employees said they enjoyed working with the people in our organisation and 98% said that they were proud to work for the Hospice. Our employees felt they could make a difference and enjoyed the work they do.

We provide specialist care for people who have an incurable, life limiting illness in our 13 bedroom ward which is located in Pontefract just minutes from Junction 32 of M62. We also offer outreach services and run a successful Lymphoedema clinic for patients.

We currently have a vacancy for a Health Care Assistant to join our team. As a Health Care Assistant within the Hospice you will assist in delivering basic care and other patient related clinical activities under the supervision or as directed by a Registered Nurse. You will also provide support to carers and colleagues within the clinical environment. The holistic support we offer to our patients is tailored to meet their medical, social, spiritual and emotional needs.

We are looking for someone who is reliable, forward thinking and who has the ability to communicate effectively. The successful candidate will also have a caring attitude, be enthusiastic and willing to learn. By joining our fantastic Hospice team we’ll help you to develop your specialist end of life care skills, knowledge and experience.

Successful applicants will join our Hospice pension scheme (where eligible), will enjoy 27 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays per year (pro rata) and will also be entitled to the following benefits:

· Learning and development opportunities

· Staff wellbeing support, including Employee Assistance Programme, complementary therapy sessions, clinical supervision and access to occupational health support.

· Free on-site car parking

· Free tea and coffee

· Discounted meals and snacks.
