We’re on the lookout for a Senior Engineer to join our Infrastructure Team based in the North West. We are looking for someone who is multiskilled in pulling, blowing and splicing fibre both UG and OH. You will be building optical networks in a region of the UK. You will report to the Principal Engineer and will be responsible for a gang of engineers and to provide technical support, management and oversight.

What you'll be doing…

  • Work with project managers to understand the scope of job packs and estimate timescales
  • Conduct risk assessments and report hazards
  • Installation of Test Rod & Rope, subduct, blowing and pulling in Underground & Overhead environments
  • Report creation
  • Periodic inspection of equipment
  • Engineer management
  • Submission of reports in a timely manner
  • Engineer health and safety and welfare at work
  • Raising tooling requests
  • Ensuring that work is planned ahead of time

A full clean driving licence is essential for this role as well as previous experience in the telecommunications sector.

To join us as a Senior Engineer, you meet the following requirements:

  • Previous experience of TR&R, subducting, pulling, blowing
  • Previous experience as a Fibre Engineer
  • Have knowledge of cabinet commissioning and equipment
  • Have a sound knowledge of PON
  • Have a good knowledge of BTOR PIA product
  • Be able to do both UG and OH Fibre installations

You will confidently be able to manage a team and resolve any issues that may arise. You will also possess the following engineering qualifications SA001, SA002, S5, S6, S7, S8 and any other relevant qualifications. The ability to work away from home and nights if required is imperative.
