Location: Weybridge, UK
We are seeking Placement Student with a passion for public relations and communication to become our PR Intern involved in all day-to-day activities of the public relations department, including liaising with agencies, coordinating events, drafting press releases, coverage monitoring and reporting, and arranging product reviews.
Throughout this 13-month paid placement, you will be given the opportunity to not only expand your knowledge in public relations and immerse yourself in what it means to be a great PR professional, but also gain an exciting insight into Sony’s PR operation and actively contribute to our media presence in Europe putting your stamp on the role. Working within an established team, you will be offered expert mentorship alongside multiple development opportunities.
You will:
  • Provide event support at European trade and consumer media events, including coordination, logistics and on-the-ground media liaison and product demos
  • Build understanding of consumer insights and target audiences to develop creative, content-led and sustained editorial PR campaigns for our products
  • Draft product press releases
  • Analyse media and influencer coverage and produce coverage reports
  • Coordinate information between central and in-country PR teams to maintain coherency in communication
  • Support the team with administrative tasks (e.g. maintaining a shared drive, preparing documents and presentations, raising purchase orders for suppliers)
  • Work with the internal communications team to ensure employees are kept up-to-date with interesting and timely PR topics, such as product launches, awards, and coverage
Your profile:
  • Studying for an undergraduate degree which makes you eligible for a 13-month placement starting summer 2023. Preferred degree in Public Relations, Communications or Media-related
  • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken)
  • Good eye for detail and proof-reading skills
  • Enthusiastic and proactive attitude to working on constantly evolving projects and ad hoc duties
  • Self-motivated, organised and inquisitive individual who is not afraid to challenge and be challenged
  • Team player with great interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint)

Your new office:
Based at the Weybridge office, you will enjoy a modern working environment. We have an onsite canteen with a wide range of options available including vegan, and a barista style coffee.
