Electrician

We’re Smart Tec Solutions operating throughout the UK offering Mechanical and Electrical Engineering services, specialising in retail, commercial and education sectors. We offer a true design and build service to all sectors.

Position

Due to continued growth, we are searching for qualified electricians to join to the team at Smart Tec Solutions with immediate starts available. The work will involve all aspects of electrical installation.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• First and Second fix installations
• Electrical repairs and modifications.
• Diagnose and address functionality and safety issues.
• Install indoor electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems.
• Inspect and test electrical systems, including fuses, transformers and circuit breakers.
• Stay apprised of revisions to relevant building and safety regulations.

Requirements

• Certificated qualifications and demonstrated experience commercial electrical works.
• Proven knowledge and experience in electrical fixed wire testing, installing and maintaining up to 400v.
• Ability to correctly complete the relevant certifications, follow agreed procedures and accurately record data and information.
• Ability to accurately interpret technical data & drawings and instructions.
• Experience of working in a customer focused environment within agreed performance targets.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to make decisions and solve problems seeking any advice required.
• Ability to carry out physical tasks and lift weights in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
• Good working knowledge of Health & Safety Practices.
• Demonstrates the Guinness Behaviours.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

• ECS/JiB – Graded Electrician.
• Other building trade skills in addition to main trade.

Essential Qualifications:

• City and Guilds 236 Pt 1 & 2 (or NVQ Level 3).
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations BS7671.

Salary: From £15.74 up to £20.44 per hour

The Smart Tec Solutions Head Office is based in the iconic Fort Dunlop building, in Birmingham. We also have an office based in Openshaw, Manchester. We were founded in April 2015 by Jon Potter and Andrew Constantinou, with a small team of highly skilled engineers.

We have directly employed SMSTS site supervisors, plumbers, heating engineers, electricians, and apprentices alongside with a team of trusted sub-contractors. Our team operate nationwide day or night, including weekends to meet the needs of our clients.

To do this, we continuously develop our processes and policies, this involves regular staff training and monitoring of current procedures, which enables us to deliver the best possible service.

Since the company was founded, we have managed to build up a reputable brand which has led to us forming excellent working relationships with contractors and sub-contractors alike. We are always keen to build and develop new working relationships. To date, we have delivered in excess of one thousand projects for M&S through main contractors, along with projects for other companies. The projects have ranged from £500 to £3.2 Million.
