We are looking for a passionate Fine Art Tutor to join this high achieving department. Fine Art Department

Fine Art is a vibrant, exciting and contemporary art form where we embrace a full range of techniques to help support the students in their studies. We encourage use of materials from the traditional acrylics and watercolours to more digital art, iPad Pro and Apple Pencils. Students work on installations, murals and other extended activities and the support we offer as teachers encourages innovation, risk and a love of the art form. From exhibitions to coursework the breadth and quality of the students' work is incredible and Fine Art has a proud history at the college. Fine Art students progress onto a range of HE options including Oxbridge. We are looking for like-minded professionals excited and invigorated by the subject keen to join a mutually supportive team where resources, ideas and experiences are freely shared to help enrich the lives of all the young people we teach.

Day to Day Expectations of a Teacher

A full time teacher will have 22.5 hours per week contact with students, split over 5 Teaching groups (15 periods) with 5 additional periods for preparation & marking.

On a Tuesday all staff are expected to attend a briefing at 8.40am and departmental meetings / all staff CPD after college, finishing at 5.20pm.

Throughout the year there are a number of whole college events, (open evenings, parent evenings, interview day, enrolment) at which attendance is required.

Common resources are shared within departments and there are regular opportunities for professional development, delivering extracurricular student clubs and wellbeing/social activities.

  • Develop skilled and effective teachers to implement our pedagogic priorities and deliver outstanding education and outcomes for all of our learners
  • Improve progression opportunities for all our learners, raising aspirations and smoothing transition cliff edges
  • Embed a culture of collaborative working and sharing good practice across all Trust academies
  • Develop an innovative, inspirational workforce with outstanding opportunities for career progression


How do we support you:

As a new member of staff you will receive plenty of support from your colleagues both from the department and from the wider college community. This will include:

  • a mentor to help you through the first year (in particular);
  • support from your curriculum manager and director of faculty; and
  • an extensive programme for all new staff to help induct you into College life as well as to develop your approach to teaching
