QA Tester

Shelter helps millions of people each year, and the digital team play a key role by doing exciting service design work that affects our advice services, campaigns, and fundraising. We collaborate across the organisation to deliver first-class design, products, and services in an agile, iterative, and data-driven manner.

We’re looking for a skilled QA Tester to join our Central Digital team to help us improve the quality of our digital products and complex web-based applications. You’ll have experience of both manual and automation testing methodologies and will be comfortable working in an agile environment with product teams, a development team and a Senior QA. Your primary focus will be on assuring the quality of our web and mobile products which will involve estimating work, understanding acceptance criteria, creating test cases, executing test scripts and recording results.

A great chance to play a part in the fundamental change we’re striving to achieve, you’ll need excellent cross-browser and cross-platform testing skills. You’ll also need to be familiar with Playwright JS and the Cucumber BDD testing frameworks, as well as a solid understanding of Git and version control. Experience of CI/CD principles and tools like CircleCI and GitHub Actions would be beneficial. Exposure to load testing with JMeter or similar tools and experience with manual API testing using Postman are also beneficial. You should have strong knowledge of Jira for project management and issue tracking, and be well-versed in WCAG 2.1 web accessibility standards and the importance of inclusive design and user experience.

As an effective communicator, you're able to work collaboratively and proactively with cross-functional teams. You'll thrive in a fast-paced environment, where excellent time management and problem escalation are crucial.
