We are looking to recruit 2 Fibre Splicers to cover our fibre works in different regions of the country. We’re based on the Isle of Wight.
We’re very flexible with working schedule (10 days or Mon-Fri or different). We pay competitive rate and provide all the equipment and vans/cherry pickers. We can also assist with relocation, book hotels for specific work and make all the necessary arrangement so you can focus on the job.
Job Title: Fibre Splicer
Duties of post: splicing and testing on existing and new build networks, build and splice nodes for pons
Skills, experience and qualifications required for the post:
· Installation, Stripping and preparing of optical fibre cable to build a PON network.
· Live network Fusion splicing using state of the art Splicing Equipment.
· Splicing and testing of external optical fibres and cbt’s via (OTH) Optical Test Head and LLR Auto Toggle .
· Working at height and in the underground network splicing.
· Supporting company and client engineers building full fibre networks to Residential and Business customers.
· Working as an individual and as a part of team to achieve targets and KPI’s.
· Adherence with Health and Safety legislation
Job Responsibilities:
· Fusion Splicing & Live network splicing.
· New Build (Building new splice points using various underground joint closures and optical distribution frames).
· Being able to analyse the trace results to pinpoint any problems.
· Reading and understanding straight line drawings and fibre allocation sheets.
Experience & Skills Required:
· Fusion splicing.
· A willingness to travel between our contract sites.
· A full Driving Licence

Part-time hours: 40 per week
Salary: From £35,000.00 per year
