About The Role:
This role is within the Global IT Security function at RWS, you will be part of the team responsible for managing the Security platforms that protect the RWS Group from Cyber Security threats, as well as assisting with resolving threats that are detected and escalated to us by our Managed Detection and Response partner.
This role will suit someone fairly new to Cyber Security who is looking to develop their skills in a large, complex technology organization, or alternatively someone looking to make the switch to Cyber Security from a technical role within another IT discipline.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and develop Cyber Security tooling to ensure a robust and resilient security configuration, recommending and implementing improvements where necessary
- Utilize automation techniques to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of operational security tasks
- Work with wider IT Infrastructure teams to build automated solutions that enhance the effectiveness of security tooling and associated platforms
- Analyze and assist with remediating cyber security threats and detections escalated by our Managed Detection and Response partners
- Daily operational tasks such as monitoring and resolving support tickets related to security tooling, assisting other areas of the organization by providing advice and guidance on Cyber Security, ensuring Cyber Security tools are up to date, healthy and fully-functional
- Assisting with Security Audits by gathering and sharing information and evidence related to security control configuration and performance
Requirements:
- An understanding of key Cyber Security controls such as Antivirus, EDR/XDR, SIEM, Email and Web Security, Vulnerability Management
- Knowledge of common Cyber Security threats and mitigation techniques with a keen interest in keeping your knowledge and skills up to date
- Strong general IT skills and a good understanding of IT Infrastructure, including Windows laptops and servers, cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure/Office 365/AWS, networking and firewalls
- Previous experience or a strong desire to learn scripting and automation techniques such as Python/SOAR
- An analytical mindset with strong problem solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, able to explain technical information in a simplistic manner
