REClifts is now working with a well established Lift Company that is on the lookout for a proven Health& Safety Manager. Would consider a Health & Safety Consultant / Interim.

The Lift Company

• Provides a wide range of services to the UK lift sector, operating from multiple offices situated Nationwide. The lift engineering company has several divisions which work seamlessly.
• Our client offers bespoke installation, service packages of lifting equipment
• Key examples of lift engineering products installed are goods lifts, passenger lifts, through the floor, home lifts, platform lifts and dumb waiters.

The Health& Safety Manager Role:

• Maintaining and developing ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001 systems
• Creating, maintaining and developing company controlled documents policies, procedures, forms risk assessments, method statements and toolbox talks library
• External audits of the above systems
• Completion of prequalification schemes e.g. CHAS
• Safecontractor, Constructionline, Exor, ROSPA schemes
• Writing Construction Method Statements and Risk Assessments
• Writing site specific service Method Statements and Risk Assessments
• Dissemination and collation of LEIA information
• Liaising with enforcement agencies (HSE/Environment Agency
• Accident reporting and investigation, remedial action and RIDDOR reporting
• PAT testing of electrical equipment and updating the asset register.
• Testing of lifting equipment and compliance
• Arranging CSCS and PASMA, first aid card tests, courses and renewals
• Raising, checking and signing off purchase orders and invoice for all aspects of the HSQE department
• Maintaining and developing training academy document processes and procedures
• Liaising with external training providers for NVQ training
• Keeping up to date with any changes to Health and Safety, Environmental legislation, British Standards and Training requirements/standards.
• Attending training courses
• Raising purchase orders, faxing purchase orders,completing the hire spread sheet for hired equipment,off hiring and signing off invoices for hired equipment.

The Health& Safety Manager Candidate

• The ideal candidate MUST come from the engineering Industry as a Health and Safety Manager. You will also have the following skills, qualifications or experience:
• Hold a NEBOSH General Certificate, NEBOSH Diploma, NCRQ, or NVQ in Occupational Health and Safety (or similar) - Essential
• Member of IOSH and working towards CMIOSH- Essential
• Ideally have experience with ISO 45001 (Internal auditor is desirable)
• Ideally come from an Engineering Environment - preferably Lift Industry Environment.
