Job Introduction

Do you want to shine a light on the daily decisions of councils, to ensure politicians keep their promises and to break essential stories about public interest issues?

We are looking for someone to join us as a Local Democracy Reporter to live and breathe the decisions being made by Hillingdon, Hounslow and Ealing councils.

From the state of roads to local schools to new recycling services, every one of us is affected by the decisions that councils make.

You will be part of a team of 165 reporters working throughout the UK to hold local authorities to account through a BBC-supported service.

Your work will mean that everyone in Hillingdon, Hounslow and Ealing will get to hear about what their councils are doing in their name.

If you’re a politically-minded reporter, ready to stalk the corridors of power in London, searching for brilliant and engaging stories for our audience then this is the position for you! Apply now, we’re reviewing applications as they arrive.

We help all kinds of people share experiences through our stories because we believe this is what makes us human.

Oh, and we should probably also mention that with a monthly readership of 47 million people, Reach is the largest commercial publisher in the UK. At Reach, not only will you feel better understood, you will also feel you understand other people better too.
