An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Administration & Resource Officer to join the Health and Sustainability Hub in Public Health Wales. The Health and Sustainability Hub champions sustainability and action on the climate and nature emergencies.

This role provides an excellent opportunity for a highly organised and enthusiastic person to help deliver exciting projects on sustainability and health, helping support Public Health Wales’ vision of working to achieve a healthier future for Wales, and the Hub’s priorities to improve health and well-being whilst reducing our impact on the planet.

This role will provide support to the team to help us deliver and monitor the Hub’s work programme. This will include administrative tasks such as: arranging meetings and events, maintaining electronic files, set up and maintain distribution lists, monitor the Hub’s inbox, drafting correspondence, reports, communication materials, emails and letters and other administration tasks that fall within the competencies of the post-holder.

The post-holder is required to liaise with colleagues across Public Health Wales and partner organisations, work to deadlines and ensure professional standards are maintained.

The post-holder will need to be comfortable working in a virtual team.

The Health & Sustainability Hub Administration & Resource Officer will provide key administrative support to the team.

The duties and responsibilities listed below are not intended to be exhaustive, but are set out to indicate the main areas of activity currently expected. The post holder will, therefore, be expected to adopt a flexible approach when the needs of the service require.

The post-holders’ key responsibilities will include:
  • Provide support to staff within the Hub.
  • Organise and support the planning of meetings and events.
  • Be a point of contact for internal and external parties.
  • Communicate with a wide range of health and other professionals, disseminating Hub advice on sustainability.
  • Support the team in responding to team emails and requests for information.
  • Monitor progress of defined aspects of specific projects such as overseeing publications (editing, images) and business processes.
  • Maintain office systems, including electronic files, ensuring that information is appropriately and securely stored, filed and retrievable.
  • Liaise with staff and other project teams to support the efficient running of projects and Hub work programme.
  • Set up and maintain internal and external distribution lists.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
