This role is a Full Time, Permanent role, working 36.25 hours per week. As an Environment & Sustainability officer you will work across a wide range of business areas. The key focus is understanding how we can retrofit our homes to achieve a net zero Carbon Performance.


Beyond the retrofit challenge you will also have a chance to get involved in and make a difference in other key areas to improve the Group’s sustainability performance.


WHAT WILL THE RIGHT PERSON LOOK LIKE?


We are seeking a highly motivated person, with an understanding of environmental and sustainability principles who is looking to advance their knowledge and career in sustainability. They must be able to work on their own initiative in an ever changing sector as well as being a team player; they will also have a customer-focused approach. This is a crucial post and the successful candidate must have excellent communication skills and a passion for sustainability. You will be committed to customer service, have the ability to understand and interpret complex data, prioritise tasks and effectively manage conflicting priorities..


WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?


This role has a number of core objectives including:-


  • To support the development and implementation of the Group’s Environmental Sustainability Strategy and associated action plan.
  • You will support the sustainability team through carrying out administrative tasks as needed including ensuring all energy data is input and stored correctly in the asset management system.
  • You will also lead on the delivery of fuel poverty and energy advice programmes for tenants as part of our retrofit programmes.
  • Support with the delivery of our investment plan to improve the fabric of our housing stock.
  • Assist with monitoring and collecting data on the groups sustainability performance, including carbon emissions, and upkeep of our Environmental Management System
  • Devise, undertake, and manage environmental projects and campaigns that seek to improve the Groups sustainability performance and be accountable for achieving set targets.
  • Using your relationship building skills, you will work with other key teams across the business in promoting the Sustainability Strategy and raising the profile of sustainability issues.
  • Assist in the collection and development of information on energy ratings, ensuring that all records are accurate and kept up to date.
