Sales Assistant - Camping Shop & Tent Showroom

Preppers Shop UK is the leading bushcraft & camping store. Located on Prow Park alongside our current warehouse and offices, we are a huge specialist outdoor gear centre supplying Cornwall with camping, bushcraft, expedition and military products. We are further expanding into a 2nd store on site specialising in family camping which will include Cornwall's first tent showroom!

We are looking to expand the team for our retail store. The ideal candidate would have a knowledge of camping or at the very least be really enthusiastic to learn! You will need to learn the technical aspects of tents to be able to confidently advise to customers the perfect tent for them as well as our other vast range of products. Excellent customer service skills is a huge requirement.

We are looking for team members who love people as much as they love the outdoors. We spend our time getting to know our customers and their needs so we can really advise the best bit of equipment for their requirements. You need to be bubbly, friendly and definitely approachable.

You will be working in a close knit team within a family run business. Culture at Preppers Shop is extremely important, we strive to provide an atmosphere where our staff love coming to work and being in a friendly environment.

We are recruiting for various positions in the retail store. We are open to full time as well as part times hours. We are open 9am-8pm 7 days per week so have a variety of flexible shift patterns available.

The role includes:

• Assisting customers in finding the perfect product for them
• Merchandising in store
• Preparing stock sheets for the warehouse for daily stock replenishment
• Taking pride in the shops appearance
• Ensuring our high standards are maintained
