Job Purpose

Plant & Bean is a rapidly growing manufacturer of plant-based meat. We are looking to grow our team and are now recruiting for a Fully Qualified Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our Engineering Team.

You will be involved in the continuing site set up and commissioning of the site and as we increase production and trials on site, as a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will take responsibility for both proactive and reactive maintenance duties within our fast-paced food production environment. At all times maintaining a safe working environment.

As a member of the Engineering team, you will share responsibility for achieving budgeted machine performance targets and ensuring the machines are kept running to peak performance within production.

The role will be based at our site in Boston, Lincolnshire.

Key Accountabilities

· You will promptly respond to breakdowns or faults and be able to work quickly under pressure.

· Carrying out fault finding diagnosis with a clear structured approach, facilitate efficient and effective repairs on equipment.

· Effectively communicate and escalate any fault, damage or condition that cannot be rectified.

· Carry out PPMs and repairs in a safe and hygienic manner as directed by the engineering manager.

· Ensure all engineering records are kept up to date and in timely manner; this includes root cause analysis of failures and use of spares and consumables.

· Daily plant inspections, including monitoring of plant performance and condition.

· You will need to have a forward-thinking mindset and be willing contribute to new and innovative ideas to help improve production and line efficiency.

· Maintain, organise, and prioritise your own workload providing feedback to the relevant department.

· Operate a clean as you go policy, ensuring full compliance with food hygiene standards

· As a multi skilled engineer you may be required to be involved in project work, depending on the needs of the business.

Qualifications/Experience/Attributes

· You will be highly organised, with good attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure, alone or as part of a team.

· Sound understanding of Health and Safety Regulations.

· Previous experience working within a fast-paced food or industrial manufacturing environment is essential.

· As a multi-skilled engineer, you will be confident working with both electrical and mechanical fault finding and rectification.

· Pneumatic and electro pneumatic knowledge is advantageous.

· TIG welding and fabrication skills are advantageous.

· Time served apprenticeship in an engineering/mechanical or electrical role/or Degree/HND or equivalent in mechanical/electrical engineering is required for this role.

· 18th Edition City & Guilds (Desirable)

· First Aid, Health & Safety and/or Food Safety qualifications advantageous.

· Critical for us is your enthusiasm, customer service driven attitude and ability to multi-task.

· Communication is an important part of this role so excellent written and verbal skills and the ability to convey information concisely is essential.

· You will be enthusiastic and conscientious and have a proactive approach to Good Manufacturing Practices.

· You should have a flexible approach towards your hours, whilst we anticipate you will be working rotating morning/afternoon shift pattern, there may be times when support is required outside these shift patterns.

· The role involves wearing personal protective equipment and working in a factory environment.

· You should be keen to drive your own personal development through training and work-based experience.
