The Opportunity

We are looking for a Full time Marketing Assistant to provide marketing and administrative support for the Marketing department.

As a Marketing assistant you will support the work of the Marketing Manager on projects directed at maximising company profits by assisting in developing sales strategies and marketing campaigns.

This may be an ideal position for someone just qualified in Marketing.

Hours: Monday - Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm

Salary; Negotiable according to experience

Key responsibilities – Reporting to the Marketing Manager, carrying out essential functions to assist the Marketing department accomplish the Marketing goals which is to grow revenue. Key responsibilities are, but not limited to and all overseen by the Marketing Manager:

Events Marketing – Meeting with the events team to go through their events planned for the year, obtain all the relevant information needed in order to market the events to the correct audience. Design the collateral for the events – posters, flyers etc., and create copy for it. Create an Eventbrite page for each event with the copy and imagery. Put the marketing of the event out to all the relevant channels e.g., social media, emails. Create a bedroom package around each event to boost room sales. Review sales after the event.

Conduct market research. Study our competition see what they are doing regarding pricing, ideas etc., to ensure we are competitive, follow them, spot trends to help in creating marketing strategies and plans, elaborate on them, contribute and present/pitch new ideas to the MM with an outline plan

Monitor our marketing campaigns progress and the results to gather data to improve upon our performance, create reports, google analytics, meta insights

Deliver graphic, written or verbal presentations and reports of findings, statistics, insights

Assist in creating and updating content on multiple platforms, including website, social media accounts, blogs and emails, update highlights, take photos, videos, assist in the planning and managing of photo and video shoots

Respond to messages received on the FB page, Instagram page, email guests pre events to upsell rooms and future events

Grow both followers and engagement across all social media platforms, keeping up to date with trends e.g., TicToc

Assist with the organisation and coordination of marketing and promotional events, such as conferences, exhibitions, bridal fayres and trade shows

Assist with the designing and production of menus and other marketing collateral, ensuring compliance with the Company’s brand guidelines. Ensure our collateral around the hotel looks professional, fresh and new, out where they should be and up to date.

Provide general office support, which can include answering phones, arranging appointments, liaising with customers, external agencies and printers

Liaise with other departments regarding their marketing needs

Assist in the creating of a marketing social media and email schedule

Attend meetings with clients ref advertisements in magazines

Budget understanding

Skills and experience required:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, listening skills
  • Excellent organisational, time management and project management skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure
  • Strong technical skills especially in Microsoft Office applications, digital marketing software and social media creativity, WordPress, photoshop, lightroom, canva
  • Commercial awareness
  • B to B knowledge
  • The ability to analyse data and spot trends
  • Creative skills, including writing, design, photography knowledge
  • Great team working skills
  • Numerical skills, including compiling and analysing spreadsheets
  • Basic understanding of digital marketing

Previous Marketing experience.
