The Role

An exciting position has become available for a full-time Finance Assistant on a 12 month+ contract to join our Finance team based in London W1. The role will be office based with the opportunity to work remotely.

As a Finance Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring all accounts payable functions are performed in accordance with our policy. You will ensure the seamless processing of invoices and payment runs, whilst maintaining effective and beneficial supplier relationships. You’ll provide valuable support to the finance team, utilising your knowledge and experience to improve processes.

You will also be responsible for maintaining a system of invoices and payment requests required to process payments promptly and adequately. You will ensure validity and accuracy of all invoices, appropriate allocation of expenses and accurate preparation of journals / balance sheet reconciliation for month end closing.

You will be reporting directly into the Finance Director and will be an integral part of the Finance Team.

Key Responsibilities [but not limited to]

  • Managing the accounts shared mailbox and issuing invoices in line with customer deadlines.
  • Liaise with department heads to ensure all invoices and expenses are approved before paying.
  • Accurate coding and posting of invoices/expenses into the purchase ledger.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliation and expense summaries of the nominal ledgers.
  • Reconciling all balance sheet accounts.
  • Maintaining supplier details on the ledger.
  • Dealing with staff expenses, expenses mailbox and reconciliation of the company cards.
  • Assist in the preparation of any documents required for the FD.
  • Providing support to the FD and Finance Team.
  • Undertaking ad hoc responsibilities and projects as required and ensuring the team objectives are met.

Role Requirements

  • A minimum of 12 months experience in an Accounting / Finance role.
  • Part Qualified ACCA or equivalent.
  • Strong Bookkeeping skills.
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of Google Sheets, XERO & Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent standard of communication skills at all levels.
  • Exemplary time management and accuracy skills.
  • A Mac user (Preferred but not essential).
