Wellspring is an established and growing Multi-Academy Trust with a difference. We operate Primary, Secondary, Special and Alternative Academies across Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and the Humber. We are committed to making a difference to the lives and life chances of the young people and the communities we serve.

As the Trust continues to grow our roles offer pathways for ambitious and dynamic individuals who are determined to make a difference. We value our people; collegial working at all levels is central to our culture. High quality induction training and ongoing professional development support are guaranteed. There will be a broad range of opportunities for you to realise your professional vision and ambitions within the Trust.

We are interested in hearing from people who:

  • Are creative, imaginative, committed and passionate about learning
  • Can lead and inspire others
  • Have a commitment to working with children and young people with challenging behaviour.

Trent View College is a new post-16 special college in Scunthorpe opening in September 2023 - and we need talented, dynamic, committed leaders to build a new school community that inspires horizons and exceeds expectations for our young people.

We are looking for an exceptional Pastoral Manager to join our leadership team to help drive continued improvement to become a truly outstanding college in the eyes of young people and communities. You will play a crucial role in supporting the transition of young people and the training of a brand new staff team.

This is a key role and you will be a member of the Senior Leadership Team. Your initial priority will be to support the successful transition of young people into this brand new setting, liaising with professionals and families as appropriate.

  • You will be passionate about learning
  • You will be able to demonstrate a track record of impact and success
  • You will be able to communicate your passion to young people and colleagues alike
  • You will be committed to the safeguarding of young people.

Your role will be to lead the pastoral provision across the college including being Designated Safeguarding Lead. You will also be responsible for promoting students' socially valid behaviour choices through the use of positive intervention plans and empowering colleagues to do the same. You will be an exemplar of good practice and a leader of joint-practice development.

Though based in Scunthorpe, there will be opportunities for you to work with other Academies within the Trust and to work with colleagues beyond the Trust.

If you are interested in working with us, please email Sarah Parker sj.parker@wellspringacademies.org.uk for further information and to arrange an informal discussion.

Wellspring Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our pupils. All posts are offered subject to enhanced DBS checks. References will be requested and an online search carried out for shortlisted candidates, prior to attendance at interview. Further pre-employment checks, including prohibition from teaching, childcare disqualification and section 128 checks, if deemed relevant for the role, will be completed for the successful candidate upon acceptance of the post.

We are committed to equal opportunities and to promoting diversity. We want our people to reflect the diversity of our communities, and we welcome applications from people from all backgrounds, especially from under-represented groups, including those from Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities.

If you are currently living overseas or have lived / worked overseas in the last five years please be aware that you will be required to provide an overseas criminal records check from the country/countries you have resided in, if you are the preferred candidate for the post.
