Adult Acute Dietician

Introduction to the Role:

A diverse and unique placement opportunity has arisen within Manchester Royal Infirmary’s Adult Dietetics Therapy Service for a period of 8-weeks with the potential to extend this dependant on the department’s permanent recruitment initiatives. Introduction to the Trust, Ward & Team:

Members of the department work with Trust staff on the following groups and committees; Nutrition Steering Committee, Essence of Care Project Team and Food Steering Group. Qualified and registered professionals deliver high quality patient care in accordance with their professional body. You will be joining a multi-disciplinary team clinically supervised by Band 7 Lead within the particular speciality and receive/provide peer support for other Band 6's however there is no clinical supervision responsibilities within this post.

Responsibilities:

If you are successful in your application to this post, you will be expected to manage and deliver on the responsibilities outlined below – as well as a few not included here, call today to discuss this further:

- Facilitating safe and timely patient discharge and to determine outcome of dietetic management of the patient.

- Conducting accurate measurements to assess nutritional status and body composition including anthropometry, percent weight change, skin fold thickness, dynamometry, plotting growth charts, calculating height velocity and BMI/weight for height.

- Apply own knowledge of food and nutritional analysis packages to analyse food intake, recipes and tube feeds.

To be successful in applying for this role you will need:

- HCPC Registration & Enhanced DBS.

- Post qualified experience at Band 6 level autonomously manage independent caseload of certain specialism within either; Gastro, Renal, Critial Care or HPB.

- Demonstratable skills in; communication, team working and flexibility.
