Naq Cyber is an international startup that provides an automated cybersecurity and compliance platform to small and medium-sized businesses around the UK and Europe. Naq is changing the face of cyber security with its diverse team and jargon-free approach to the traditional security and legal sectors.

We started Naq to help small business owners that didn’t know what to do or where to start when it came to securing their information. We have worked closely with these small businesses to ensure we would build a solution tailored to their needs, which was easy to use, affordable, and -dare we say- fun. By combining our cutting-edge application with expert human support, we work with our customers to ensure their business complies with data privacy regulations and is protected from cybercriminals and human mistakes.

We are looking for an ambitious, hard-working UI Developer to join our team as we tackle the European and British cybersecurity markets and have a little fun while we’re at it.

About the Role

Naq is looking for UI Developers with a flair for design and a passion for UX to help shape and build the Naq platform and give our customers a pleasurable and fulfilling experience. We are looking for someone to really take ownership of the UI and grow with the company, with the space and freedom to feel like they have a real impact on the direction of the codebase.

As a member of a small business, you will be interacting with all levels of the team, including the founders and other departments.

The role will involve:

• Developing the UI, working with stakeholders to build industry-leading product features
• Be responsible for the successful and bug-free delivery of the Naq user interface, reporting directly to the Head of Engineering
• Ensuring pixel-perfect design, with a smooth and intuitive workflow through the platform
• Working with backend developers to ensure fast and reliable API integrations
• Planning a roadmap to shape the UI architecture over time

This role will start as a remote, but Naq is moving to a hybrid form of working. Before the end of the year, we will likely open an office in the London area. However, if the perfect candidate for this role is outside of that area, we will not be geograph-ist!

This is a permanent position.

Your knowledge and experience

• 2 years of professional JavaScript experience (Angular/React/Vue/Svelt)
• 2 years of professional CSS / HTML experience
• Experience of AngularJS
• Knowledge of design and UX principals
• Experience integrating into backend APIs and working with data
• A passion for working in a small business and taking ownership of your work
• Attention to detail and a drive to deliver first-class bug-free code.

Desirable experience

• Experience working with Git SCM
• Integration into AWS services such as S3 or Cognito
• End-to-end testing using Selenium or Cypress
