Modern Paper is a Tissue Paper Converting & Manufacturing company based in South East London. We serve the consumer market with toilet rolls and kitchen towels via cash-and-carry outlets and other retailers.

The team at Modern Paper brings decades of international experience in the professional hygiene and tissue paper conversion business.

Our state-of-the-art, fully equipped hub is centrally located to the East of London. This 4.5-acre facility is equipped with two brand new converting lines which are capable of producing 20k tonnes of paper product per annum.

The Role

The Tissue Converting Production Supervisor will be responsible for the operation results and development of employees on the shift by planning the effective use of available resources and assisting in the development of process, design, and operational improvements. The holder of this role will report directly to the Production Manager.

Main Responsibilities:

As a Tissue Converting Production Supervisor, you will be working in a production area and your duties will be as followed:

• Assign tasks and follow up with the employees when necessary to ensure that work is completed on schedule.
• Identify and correct any potential problems and take appropriate action necessary to prevent serious equipment failure.
• Provide regular inspections of work areas to assure that good housekeeping practices are followed and that all department area maintenance facilities and tools are kept in good repair.
• Assure quality of production.
• Verify that all safety recordkeeping is done in a timely manner
• Supervise employees in daily production including training, planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating employee performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; promoting safety, quality production, and teamwork; resolving conflicts.
• Manage employees' work schedules and vacations.
• Align staffing on shift to match priorities. Shifts resources to the highest priority areas.
• Ensure the team works to standards
• Ensure the collection and right reporting of performance KPIs
• Provide information and training for the crew on all equipment and processes in the area of responsibility.
• Maintain personnel records and execute performance evaluations on employees.

About you:

As a Tissue Converting Production Supervisor, you will have the following skills and experience:

• High school diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Management, Engineering, or related field peferred.
• Minimum of 4 years experience in production, manufacturing, and/or machine operating positions, plus 1 year of supervisory experience
• Prior experience in the Tissue Paper Converting industry is preferred.
• Must be self-motivated and energetic.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to work 5 days a week - Monday to Friday, up to 9 hours per shift (1-hour unpaid break incl)
• You will be able to travel to DA8 2AT, Erith

Salary: £28,000.00-£35,000.00 per year + Overtime + Bonus Scheme
