About us

These are exciting times at MeteorWrite. We formed our business in 2020 and have been trading for just over one year. Collectively we have masses of motor underwriting experience and knowledge which we would love to share with you.

Our aim is to make brokers stand out from the crowd by providing specialist motor underwriting services, cover and expertise. We are growing and we are now looking for a Trainee Underwriter to join us in our journey and to help us drive our success into 2023 and beyond.

If you want to find out more then please visit www.meteorwrite.co.uk.

Our Culture

We love our culture and have made this a focus for our business wanting to be the best in our field. As a team we have spoken a lot about the need for strong leadership, to be high performing, to empower people, be flexible in the way we work, build strong relationships, and have strong principles; trustworthy, respect, openness, loyalty and honesty. We’re looking to recruit a person that would fit well with our culture, share our vision and principles and also our passion for excellence.

We want you to bring your whole self to work, we have a diverse mix of customers and we want our employee base to reflect that. We accept applications from everyone regardless of your background, beliefs or culture.

Terms and Conditions / Policies

We’ve created terms and conditions and policies, with a package that is right for our business and competitive in the market, but importantly with built in flexibility so we can support every member of staff in their work-life balance. In time, the creation of our bonus scheme will ensure everyone can benefit from MeteorWrite’s success. What we are saying is that we value people and we recognise this in a number of ways.

What can you expect from the role?

You’ll be part of our Trading team who are based in Rochford, Essex.

Specifically, you will be responsible for; -

  • Developing sound risk and business awareness alongside learning our organisation's risk appetite.
  • Quote and set coverage, negotiate terms and conditions on New Business, Mid Term Adjustment and Renewals.
  • Inputting data into our insurance platform.
  • Sending customer information and letters to our Broker partners.
  • Making Outbound calls to Brokers, demonstrating a desire to win business, alongside managing tasks and Inbound Calls.
  • Building and managing relationships with Brokers, by listening, understanding, and meeting customer needs to support onboarding new business and retaining existing customers through delivering excellent service.
  • Administer and monitor underwriting rules and guidelines and insurance laws and regulations.
  • Be an active team member of the Trading team and MeteorWrite as a whole.

This is a role which we expect to grow in knowledge so this would suit someone who is looking to learn more about motor insurance and to grow their own skills and knowledge further and be supported to do so.

The generic skills we are looking for

Hopefully you are getting the gist of the type of individual that will fit well within our business. The key behavioural areas that are important in fitting in with our team are; - Communication, Customer Focus, Team Working, Results Focus, Flexibility, Managing Change and Innovation, and Self-Development. These, amongst others, will form part of our selection process.

Experience of working in insurance would be an advantage, but it is not essential as we will provide full training.

What will working with us feel like?

Well, we hope it will feel different. We want everyone to view their contribution, not as ‘having to go to work’, but more, contributing their skills to a sense of joint purpose where everyone will benefit. Building strong relationships both internal and external will be crucial to our success and having fun along the way is important to us too.
