Junior Clinical Fellow

Do you love EM and also want to develop the crucial non-clinical skills associated with succeeding as a modern clinician?

Come and join us and on our new Clinical Fellow Development Programme at North Manchester General Hospital, part of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. This is to start in August for 1 year (negotiable) and is suitable for doctors who have completed foundation training as a minimum.

We are looking for motivated individuals who want to broaden their skills and develop specialist interests allied to healthcare. Each post will have a unique focus on a specialist area and access to educational funding, the specifics of which can be negotiated by successful applicants.

Each post will feature 20% non-clinical time to focus on your specific area of specialty. During this element of your work, you will have a mentor specific to the subject-area who can support the development of your skills.

Candidates that are non-GMC registered at the point of application will be considered for this position, under the Trusts International Fellowship Scheme (please note, there is a £500 admin charge for this scheme). Examples of potential posts are as follows:
Paediatric ED Fellow – Working within our paediatric ED area and engage in paediatric research & improvement

Research Fellow – Work within our research teams including recruitment to trials and other academic activity

Transformation Fellow – Work with our hospital transformation team to improve services both within the ED and wider organisation

Digital Health Fellow – Work with our Chief Clinical Information Officer to support implementation of digital solutions within the organisation

Wellbeing Fellow – Work with the Trust wellbeing leads to develop solutions to improve wellbeing and morale across the organisation

Communication Fellow – Work with our communications team to develop novel solutions to improve communications across the organisation

Teaching Fellow – Work with our educational leads to develop our teaching programme

Simulation Fellow – Work with our educational team to develop our simulation programme

The clinical component of these roles will give successful candidates the opportunity to work in a busy Type 1 ED setting, where you will see adults and children from a diverse population in Greater Manchester.
