Assistant Accountant

Location - West London Jaguar Land Rover (JLR Buckinghamshire 1 day per week)
Hours - Monday to Friday 9am to 5:00pm
Salary - £25,000 to £32,000

We're excited to be on the lookout for an Assistant Accountant to join our team at West London Jaguar Land Rover Dealership.
You will report into the accountant on site, Mark, who has a wealth of knowledge about Lookers, JLR, and of course Finance! So, you will have support and given the materials to flourish in your role.

Our Assistant Accountants are primarily responsible for producing timely and accurate financial information. They work alongside the wider finance team to ensure the upkeep of sub ledgers, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and calculate and communicate costs redirected from our dealerships to other areas of the group. You will also get a chance to travel to our luxurious and super spacious JLR Buckinghamshire branch in Aylesbury once a week.

It is the role of our Assistant Accountants to provide ad hoc financial information and analysis, as well as assisting with both internal and external audits, and helping the accountants with daily processing of the accounts.

• Daily banking, cash counting, PDQ refunds
• Allocation of manufacturer clearing accounts
• Purchase ledger processing, account reconciliation
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Assisting departmental managers to resolve cash debt issues
• Processing journals and assisting with management accounts production

You will be well versed in using Kerridge/ADP systems, this is a must for you to hit the ground running and be a success in this role, and you will be ideally coming with experience within another dealership or large retail operation.

Given the nature of this role your ability to work well under pressure, schedule work appropriately and show initiative to improve procedures will come to life daily and you will thrive in a busy environment.

Communication is key, as you will showcase this in varying methods in this role whilst not forgetting you will be exposed to sensitive information at times, so being discreet and protecting confidential material is a must.
