This post is fundamental in the provision of a high-quality customer focused service in an environment with complex demands and priorities, and requires someone who has the ability to use their own initiative, be well organised, work well as part of a team. Excellent communication, organisational and prioritising skills are essential, along with the ability to work under pressure.

• To collect and enter the data on all two week wait referrals. To enter this data into the Trust & local Dental cancer waiting times database ensuring, through liaison with the Trust 2 week wait team, Waiting List staff and clinical teams, that the data is accurate, timely and complete
• To liaise with dental, medical, nursing and administrative staff to ensure that all two week wait referral patients are identified through various sources e.g. Dental Waiting List office, clinics, and other data sources for recording on the Trust & local Dental cancer waiting times database
• To collect and enter the data on dental health records availability. To enter this data into the database, ensuring through liaison with reception / dental records staff that the data is accurate timely and complete
• To collect and enter the data on dental A&E attendance and target wait. To enter this data into the report spreadsheet, ensuring through liaison with reception staff and clinical teams that the data is accurate timely and complete
• To be responsible for all dental outpatient, daycase and admitted patient clinical / outcome coding data in liaison with the Trust clinical coding team, ensuring through liaison with administrative staff and clinical teams that the data is accurate, timely and complete
• Under the direction of the Waiting List Manager, to create, amend and cancel Dental clinic sessions on the Trust computerised Patient Administration System (PIMS), in accordance with departmental procedure and in compliance with extant Trust policies
• To assist the Service Manager with the local administrative processing of patient complaints in compliance with extant local and Trust policies and relevant legislation
• To liaise with King’s CIS team, for the identification and provision of information for the merging of Dental hospital numbers and King’s patient hospital numbers to the CIS team
• To provide basic analysis of data as required by the Dental Institute, Trust and external agencies within agreed deadlines
• To update and maintain relevant information resource databases / spreadsheets
• To attend regular team meetings to gather information/data and provide support as required
• To participate in projects and provide data for service improvement as requested by members of the Dental Patient Services team
• To support and work with clinical teams in completing clinical databases
• Contribute to the continuous development of information systems to improve data collection
