If successful, you will be joining a unique team of highly motivated individuals, therefore applicants must possess the ability to work well as part of a team. You will be involved in national security targeting in order to identify individuals or groups who may need to be examined under the provisions of the Terrorism Act 2000.

This is a specialist post hosted within Kent Police, in which you will have the opportunity to work with partner agencies, providing research and targeting to inform frontline activity. This post is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience of multi-agency partnership working within a national intelligence environment.

Applicants must also have developed analytical and decision-making skills combined with an ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision; often prioritising workloads effectively in order to ensure swift decisions. Effective written and verbal communication skills are also essential for this role, as you will be expected to explain your decision-making rationale.

Ideally the candidate will possess a thorough working knowledge of police or similar computer systems, and the management of secure databases. Good keyboard skills: knowledge of Microsoft Office products and the ability to rapidly familiarise yourself with other computerised databases including internet search engines are also essential skills required for this role along with the ability to work to deadlines and demanding timescales.

Finally, previous work experience within the field of intelligence is desirable but not essential for this role with a good standard of education to GCSE or equivalent level or relevant work experience.

Candidates must be prepared to undergo DV level vetting.

At time of application, internal candidates are also required to submit two most recent PDR’s. If two PDR’s are not available, candidates must provide an explanation for this.
