WHAT TO EXPECT


This is where it all begins. We develop the new concepts that go on to become new Jaguars and Land Rovers. So, the emphasis is on building strong strategic, technical and financial foundations right from the start.


The role will be part of the Prototype Vehicle Management Team (PVMT), within Build & Test Operations (EO-2). The successful candidate will support the management and running of vehicles across all programmes and platforms, as required, from early prototype phase to Job1 plus 90. This opportunity exists within a small team so flexibility, performance under pressure & attention to detail are key, along with a proven engineering background


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Support the PVMT Lead engineers, and Testing & Development Engineers with the day-to-day fleet management activities
  • Support prototype builds at pilot plant by conducting road tests, supporting End of Line teams and handing vehicles to first users.
  • Oversee part, software & RIS updates ensuring accurate & precise records are kept.
  • Help prioritise vehicles through workshops, and remove roadblocks to increase vehicle utilisation
  • Liaise with Customers to ensure that the service provided meets & exceeds expectations
  • Support resource management meetings within the Build & Test Ops arena to ensure workload balance
  • Manage & actively encourage Zero Harm principles within the area


WHAT YOU’LL NEED


Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Full UK driving Licence
  • A vehicle based background, with strong electrical and mechanical knowledge, including EV system functionality and diagnostics.
  • Computer literate and proficient use of MS office tools, to create and interpret tracking documents to a standard to use as report outs to all levels of the business.
  • Good understanding and appreciation for current business objectives & behaviours
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and external


Desirable

  • Previous experience of managing vehicles & update/ rework programmes
  • Knowledge of vehicle software tools for diagnostics and updates.
  • Vehicle evaluation and sign off experience, related to identifying vehicle issues and assessing vehicles fit for purpose.
  • Experience in use of business SW tools including Fleet Management System, Tableau, JIRA
  • Advanced driving qualifications / permits.
