Position:

The Rack Group Ltd is offering a great opportunity for a candidate who has previous experience working within a warehouse environment to become our new Warehouse Operative. The Warehouse Operative will join our warehouse team and complete specific duties in order to facilitate an effective material preparation department and stock control system.


The Warehouse Operative is responsible for preparing materials specific to customer requirements as scheduled by the Warehouse Supervisor/Team Leader. The role involves working alongside the company computerised order and stock control system.


The Warehouse Operative will be required to work at all company premises within the Barnsley area, along with occasional local site deliveries and regular housekeeping duties.


Responsibilities:

  • Prepare materials according to customer requirements, to include alterations and the building of systems/products.
  • Carry out the loading and unloading of materials from vehicles in a safe manner, ensuring that all changes are recorded within the stock control system.
  • Report any stock issues to ensure that levels are maintained and coordinate with Warehouse Supervisor/Team Leader on upcoming projects.
  • Complete local site deliveries as and when required.
  • Carry out daily checks on work equipment/PPE prior to use, in line with current procedures.
  • Ensure warehouse environment is kept at high standards for safety, storage efficiency and housekeeping, reporting any issues.
  • Assist the Warehouse Supervisor with the management of company fleet and routine health and safety checks.
  • Assist the production team with the preparation of Rack Armours/Barriers as and when required.
  • Using the company computerised system create and maintain auditable trails of documentation.
  • Attend team meetings to review the departments schedule and KPI’s.


Requirements:

  • Experience of working within a warehouse environment.
  • FLT- Counterbalance licence.
  • Organisational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Good communication and engagement skills.
  • Capable of working to challenging deadlines
  • Initiative-taking, hands-on, can-do attitude.
  • Able to work independently and as a team when required.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
