Introduction
At IBM, work is more than a job - it's a calling: To build. To design. To code. To consult. To think along with clients and sell. To make markets. To invent. To collaborate. Not just to do something better, but to attempt things you've never thought possible. Are you ready to lead in this new era of technology and solve some of the world's most challenging problems? If so, lets talk.

Your Role and Responsibilities
Your Role and Responsibilities : The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, able to work autonomously and/or within a deal team context so as to be able to support the IBM business, focusing on the UK and Ireland region and with occasional capability too to work across borders, when required. The candidate should have a demonstrably strong track record of commercial transactional legal experience in this jurisdiction and across multiple industries, including ideally in the financial services sector and public sector.

The new appointee will be a key and trusted legal adviser to IBM's business leaders in the region. Key responsibilities will include negotiating, drafting and advising on a variety of commercial arrangements, to include services contracts for IBM’s consulting business, business partner agreements and cloud and other technology-based contracts as well as providing support to the business in relation to disputed contracts. Within this context, the ability to negotiate common issues in complex IT transactions will be key; examples include distribution agreements, IPR, TUPE/ARD, data protection, security (including cybersecurity) and clauses required by financial service clients around audits and EBA resolutions. Regulatory experience will also be an asset.

Successful applicants will be qualified lawyers who are bright and engaging, with strong PQE in commercial and technology related agreements and disputes. Their experience and training will have been gained from working in a prestigious law firm or in a blue chip technology organisation. Relevant in-house experience in a multi-national organisation is desirable. Moreover, intellect, a collaborative, positive and enthusiastic approach and genuine passion for being part of the technology driven revolution will stand the candidate in excellent stead.
