The role of Pension Payroll Manager within the HSBC Wealth Retirement Services - Banking team will be responsible for all aspects of processing the payroll for pension scheme members in accordance with current statutory requirements within required timescales and performing all other required payroll rated duties. You will be involved with daily reconciliations and mandate auditing which requires you to have technical knowledge of Client Money (CASS) related rules.

This position would be ideal for someone who wants has demonstrable experience in payroll, management and keen to progress their technical knowledge to include Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) Client Money (CASS) rules.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Management and oversight of Banking team
  • Accurate completion of the twice monthly pension payrolls
  • Allocation and auditing of tax codes
  • Production of regulatory/member reporting
  • Provide information to HMRC in line with HMRC requirements and deadlines
  • Accurate completion of client money reconciliations
  • Accurate completion of money movements
  • Ensuring invoices are raised in line with terms and conditions and in a timely manner
  • Debt recovery in connection with invoices
  • Overseeing direct debit administration
  • Production of management information as and when required
  • Procedure reviews
  • Training and coaching members of staff at all levels
  • Allocation and supervision of work across teams
  • Auditing/peer checking work – across teams
Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Experienced people manager
  • Demonstrable working payroll experience with recognised payroll qualification
  • Continuous personal development staying up to date with payroll legislation/FCA CASS rules
  • Experience of manual payroll calculations
  • Strong knowledge of RTI, Government Gateway and Bankers’ Automated Clearing System (BACS) Payment Services
  • Excellent numeric skills
  • Competent IT skills/Excel
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong organisation and time management skills working to tight deadlines
  • The ability to work on own initiative as well as being able to identify when it is necessary to seek advice and support
  • Knowledge of Define Contribution/Money Purchase pension administration would be advantageous
  • Excellent team working skills

The base location is Forum 1, The Forum, Fareham, PO15 7PA, UK Hybrid
