We are a New Nursery Setting and are looking for a dynamic individual to fulfil the role of Nursery Cook. The cook will have the opportunity to work in a* very fun and robust environment creating, preparing and serving a robust and healthy menu for our children.*

This position is for an individual that has a real passion and love for food and healthy ingredients. They also find joy in being creative and working with the the team to inspire and assist in food activities for the children.

Our cook at Happy Trails Play will be a mini celebrity in their own right. They will play an impressionable role in our setting along with being a part of our social media marketing strategies in encouraging and educating about healthy foods. This role has the potential for growth. They will be an incredible asset to the Happy Trails Play culture.

Listed below are some of the criteria that we would like to set as the base standard to build upon :

• Prepare, cook, and serve healthy and nutritious meals including snacks appropriate for young children. They will also be involved in building the menus and maintain all meals are nutritionally balanced.
• Maintain an excellent understanding and implementation of dietary requirements and food allergies.
• Actively maintain a clean and tidy kitchen adhering to all health code regulations, policies and procedures. This will also include the dining room area and outdoor picnic space.
• Model positive, appropriate, and professional behaviour with the children along with team members and parents.Work with team members to actively encourage a healthy and nutritions diet through play and fun activities. They will play an active role in encouraging cookery sessions with children.
• Preferred experience working in a nursery, pre school or school as a Nursery Cook.

Qualifications:

• Proven catering experience.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Excellent knowledge of food preparation.
• Serious understanding of dietary requirements and managing food allergies.
