Sustainability Placement

During the Sustainability placement, your mission will be to drive sustainability initiatives and gain experience in projects that support the delivery of key areas from Gymshark's sustainability strategy.

Working within our Sustainability Team you will build and maintain collaborative relationships across the business, with other teams such as Sourcing, Materials, Product Development, Product Management to deliver on our sustainability targets.

Placement Start Date: 3rd July, 2023
Placement Duration: 13 Months (includes a one-month handover with the current placement student!)
Location: Solihull, UK
Closing Date: Sunday 9th April, Midnight (Applications may close before the deadline, so please apply early to avoid disappointment)

What you'll learn

You will gain experience in the following areas:

• Supporting on our Circularity project to reduce wastage across our product life cycles
• Updating and managing sustainability databases to drive our Supplier Scorecard
• Supporting the team in collating and inputting data onto the Gymshark Sustainability Website on a regular basis.
• With guidance, assisting the Sustainability managers with their projects including data collection and analysis, feasibility assessments, and administrative tasks such as supporting in the preparation of reports and presentations.
• Challenging and contributing ideas/suggestions to projects that will support Gymshark in delivering sustainable impact.
• Developing materials for internal communication updates on sustainability initiatives.
• Researching sustainability trends and presenting back potential opportunities

To be successful for a Sustainability placement with us, you will:

• Ability to anticipate problems, offer solutions, and address issues
• Passion for Sustainability and performance / sportswear fabrics
• A good understanding of the key principles of sustainability (I.E., UN SDG)
• Understanding of sustainability opportunities within manufacturing processes
• Knowledge of textile / waste recycling
• Good data management skills and familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite

What happens next?

Application Outcomes: Mid-April
If successful, you will be invited to complete a video interview in your own time so we can get to know the person behind the application.

Video Interview Outcomes: End of April
If successful, you will be invited to an assessment centre at Gymshark HQ, Solihull, in May 2023.
