Warehouse Section Leader

Whats the opportunity?

As a Section Leader, you will act as an advocate of the Gist culture, values, and safety standards. Your role will be to support the Warehouse Shift Managers with the smooth functioning of the Warehouse operation, ranging from picking, intake, out loading, and value-added operations. You are responsible for executing the essential tasks to ensure we meet and exceed our customers' expectations on a daily basis. You’ll be task focused and inspiring to your team by demonstrating and coaching them on what success looks like.

Salary: £32,000

Hours: 38 hours per week

Working Pattern: 4 Days from 7

Location: Gist Ltd, 158 Brancroft Way, Enfield, Middlesex, EN3 7QP

What you’ll need

• Provide clear communication and ongoing feedback to colleagues with clear examples and expected outcomes.
• Support the induction of new starters and ongoing legal and operational training requirements for colleagues (with TWI’s) .
• Create an environment where everyone can make suggestions and be heard. Act on colleague feedback .
• Ensuring training and development needs are identified and reviewed frequently.
• Undertake colleague Return to Work interviews promptly and put in place initial supportive measures is required.
• Provide updates to WH Shift Managers and escalate any issues .
• Act as an initial point of escalation for colleague concerns
• Coach colleagues to improve their performance and deliver key operational expectations
• Understand and deliver against the operational plan for that day, taking accountability for a specific operational area(s) i.e. intake, out-load, pick, grid – and ensure all key customer deliverables are met in full and on-time
• Motivate colleagues to deliver/exceed their specific operational targets
• Champion site standards and pride in the job/working environment
• Allocate resource, delegate tasks and deal with day to day issues as necessary
